Since leading the 2015 initiative to found Justice Served, a coalition of law firms and legal departments that support the Food Bank For New York City, Cadwalader has helped the initiative raise funding to provide more than 3.7 million meals to families and individuals in the five boroughs.

In commemoration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month, the Cadwalader Asian Pacific American Attorney Resource Group was honored to host a virtual presentation by Phil Tajitsu Nash, an Adjunct Lecturer in the University of Maryland’s Asian American Studies Program and board member for the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF). Phil covered a brief history of Asian Americans, the impact of the pandemic on the Asian American Pacific Islander community, and the passage of the new Anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill. Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS) will be honoring outstanding pro bono leaders who have helped to make New York City a better home for all of our neighbors in a June 17 program. We are proud that Aisha Greene, our Director of Attorney Development and Training, and Annie Mohan, our Manager of Pro Bono and CSR, will be recognized for their leadership roles in the VOLS COVID-19 Frontline & Healthcare Workers Initiative, which serves those working in healthcare settings during the public health crisis by providing them with essential life planning documents.
