A team from our Washington, DC office, led by partner Jodi Avergun and associate Michael Gonzalez, recently secured lawful permanent resident status for their 16-year-old client from El Salvador. The Firm has been working on this matter, referred by Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), since February 2017.

In April, members of the London White Collar & Investigations team – including Duncan Grieve, Sharon Takhar and Sanju Ganesan – participated in a pro bono legal advice/sustainability workshop organized by the East London Business Alliance (ELBA). The CWT team advised the Businesses for Islington Giving Alliance (BIG Alliance) on how to align their projects and activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. |
The Firm was recently recognized with a Food Drive Partner Award from Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina for its support of Legal Feeding Frenzy, an annual joint program of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and Feeding the Carolinas food banks. The campaign aims to fight hunger across North Carolina by uniting the legal community in support of local food banks.
Volunteers from Cadwalader teamed up with several of our in-house colleagues to staff a Cadwalader Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Housing Clinic in Brooklyn in late May. The clinic was organized by New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and Legal Hand Crown Heights.
In celebration of Pride Month, we were honored to host another engaging Civil Rights Series program followed by the much-anticipated “Fabulous Party.” The Civil Rights Series program featured Adam Heintz and Joy Wefum from Legal Services NYC. During the presentation, Adam and Joy discussed their work fighting poverty and pursuing asylum for LGBTQ+ clients.
