Late summer can sometimes be a slower period, but not for our Charlotte office’s pro bono and community service efforts! Cadwalader volunteers participated in four important programs over a period of one week.
In July, after more than three years of investigative work and litigation, the former executive director of our pro bono client, Kaiser’s Room, was sentenced to 36 months incarceration for wire fraud and access device fraud after embezzling nearly all of the nonprofit organization’s funds.
Throughout the year, our London office mobilizes to assist families in need by supporting Food Bank Aid, a UK charity that serves over 20,000 people each week. This summer, the office hosted a food and fundraising drive to support Food Bank Aid’s annual summer meals program. The program helps combat food insecurity for low-income families whose children lose access to the free school breakfasts and lunches they rely on during the school year. |
