In recognition of Hunger Action Month (September), all offices across the Firm came together in a collective effort to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger. Throughout the month, we engaged in a variety of activities aimed at raising awareness and supporting those affected by food insecurity in our communities. Our teams participated in volunteer projects to make sandwiches for local hunger relief organizations and shelters, packed hygiene kits for persons in need, and created treat packages for young children to brighten their day. In addition, we raised awareness about the causes and effects of hunger. |
In honor of the first responders and civilians lost on September 11, 2001, the Firm joined Bank of America in NY and DC for the Bank’s annual Wills for Heroes event. In NY, attorneys from Cadwalader and O’Melveny teamed up with Bank volunteers to assist low-income New Yorkers referred by Volunteers of Legal Service, with drafting and executing their life planning documents. In DC, attorneys from Bradley Arant and Cadwalader worked with Bank volunteers to draft life planning documents for clients referred by the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center.
We are so proud of our colleague, Intellectual Property associate Jennifer Rabbino, who made the Volunteers of Legal Service’s (VOLS) 2024 Pro Bono Dean’s List. The VOLS Pro Bono Dean's List recognizes hardworking and dedicated individuals who have made a tremendous impact in helping New Yorkers access justice. The List is dedicated to the memory of William J. Dean, VOLS’ former Executive Director of 25 years, who served as a pro bono champion and thought leader throughout his career. |
For a second year in a row, the Women’s Network in our London Office hosted Girls in Finance, a workshop developed by Cadwalader attorneys to teach high school students about careers in finance. High school students from the Eden School met Cadwalader attorneys and Firm clients to learn about basic finance principles and gain insights into their backgrounds and careers. Here are some photos from the event.
In addition to hosting toy drives across all of our offices during the holiday season to benefit families in need, the Firm also hosted an onsite holiday market in our New York office. The event featured 13 small businesses selling a variety of items – desserts, arts, stationery, ceramics, fragrances, jewelry, and candles, among other things. This holiday market not only supported small businesses, but also amplified our commitment to engaging with diverse businesses as part of our Supplier Diversity Program. Members of the Firm were invited to spend an afternoon shopping, networking, and spreading holiday cheer! |
