Business Development Assistant

The Business Development Assistant will be based in Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP’s New York office and will closely support the Director and Associate Director of Business Development and Marketing and other members of the Business Development department. The Business Development Assistant is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys and staff, and will be part of a team whose goal is to strategically grow the Firm’s client base and build the Firm’s business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Development and Marketing and working closely with the Business Development Team, you will assist in the following areas:

  • Provide general administrative assistance, including but not limited to scheduling and organizing both virtual and in-person meetings, as well as coordinating check and payment requests for business development related expenses as needed for the Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives.
  • Participate in various business development planning meetings, helping to prepare meeting notes and track the status of deliverables and action items.
  • Provide assistance in tracking and maintaining the firm’s charitable contribution database and liaising with the accounts payable department to ensure contributions are made in a timely manner.
  • Assistance with the preparation of business development presentations, reports and new business RFPs and proposals.
  • Assistance with the planning and execution of client and other firm-hosted events, including but not limited to assistance with the creation of invitation lists, RSVP tracking, guest registration, give-away items, coordination of event and vendor logistics, etc.
  • Assistance with firm and practice group sponsorship logistics.
  • Assistance with the maintenance and tracking of department promotional items, including the tracking of budget expenditures and allocation of such promotional items.
  • Assistance with the update and maintenance of various business development and marketing collateral and distribution lists.
  • Become proficient with InterAction, the firm’s CRM database.
  • Assistance with other projects and initiatives as needed; additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as determined by business needs.

  Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, liberal arts or related field desired.
  • Prior law firm experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and skills; ability to interact and communicate well with colleagues at all levels, including partners, associates and other administrative department members.
  • Self-motivated and high-energy; able to meet deadlines and complete day-to-day projects in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as required.
  • Willingness to travel if required.

 

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $57,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job.
