The Chancellor of the Exchequer’s final Budget of the current Parliament, given on 18 March 2015, was held in the shadow of the UK’s general election on 7 May 2015.  With the backdrop of the UK’s GDP growth increasing, continued low interest rates, rising employment and a reducing national debt, this was never going to be a Budget for surprise announcements.  This was a consolidating budget – a “game closer”, not a “game changer” as one newspaper reported. https://www.cadwalader.com/resources/clients-friends-memos/uk-budget-2015-key-tax-measures
