Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP hosted “Men and Women in Trading: Addressing the Gender Balance,” an event focused on encouraging greater diversity across the industry, on Thursday, 21 September.
The event featured a panel of leaders who discussed the trading environment, as well as sharing their experiences and advice on how to succeed.
Panelists included:
"Good traders need to be market savvy, questioning and persistent. These qualities are equally relevant to men and women.” Watt said.
“However, more women on the trading floor would be advantageous for the financial services industry,” she added. “Studies have shown that diversity allows decision-making to become more multi-dimensional and thus more comprehensive. For instance, despite (or perhaps because of) being more risk-averse when it comes to investing matters, women routinely enjoy better returns."
The event is part of Cadwalader’s “Women in the City” program in London, bringing together prominent leaders to share different perspectives and inspiring ideas to help women build successful careers in today’s business community.
