Cadwalader partners Samantha Hutchinson, Nathan Parker and Mike Mascia are contributing authors of the recently released Global Legal Insights – Fund Finance 2021, the fifth edition of this comprehensive guide to the fund finance market published by Global Legal Group. Mascia, who co-chairs Cadwalader's Finance Group, also is the contributing editor of Fund Finance 2021.
The “Pink Book,” as it’s called, features 23 product- and market-oriented chapters and 16 jurisdictional updates, each submitted by a leading fund finance law firm.
Mascia authored the Introductory chapter, a “Year in Review” article, that provides a high-level overview of how the fund finance industry was impacted by, and responded to, the urgency and dislocation of the COVID-19 pandemic and larger societal events in 2020. Read it here.
Hutchinson and Emily Rose, a director and relationship manager within Silicon Valley Bank’s EMEA Global Fund Banking team, co-authored the chapter, “Fund finance solutions: A manager’s considerations,” which explores various forms of fund finance products, their respective advantages and how they can solve particular liquidity needs. Read the chapter here.
Hutchinson and Parker again co-authored the jurisdictional chapter covering England & Wales, which considers the role of English law in fund financings across Europe, as well as the varied structures that have developed in the London market. The authors review the growth of the market since 2000 and provide useful insights, current market data and possible future trends. Read the chapter here.
All of the book’s chapters are freely accessible here.
