Over 200 clients, guests, and firm lawyers and staff joined leaders from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for a Cadwalader Community Conversation on “Antisemitism, Extremism and Hate: Navigating the Issues and Supporting One Another," on November 7.
The event, hosted in the firm’s Charlotte office with video participants from around the U.S., focused on the history of antisemitism, how it manifests today, and how we can support one another during this extraordinarily challenging time.
After welcome remarks by Managing Partner Pat Quinn, Cadwalader Charlotte Managing Partner Stu Goldstein opened the program and introduced guest speakers Michelle Magner and Meredith Weisel from the ADL. The discussion covered how extremists propagate hate online, recent trends and statistics in our communities since the Israel-Hamas war began in early October, and ways in which people can combat and counter hate.
“We are now living in an extraordinary climate of tension, fear and concern about the future, including in the communities where we live and work,’ said Cadwalader Managing Partner Pat Quinn. “There has never been a more critical time to understand these issues.”
Cadwalader is a signatory to the November 1 letter, signed by leading law firms and sent to law school deans, urging schools to condemn recent actions of hate and violence on college campuses.
