Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms, was nominated for Restructuring Law Firm of the Year, and three matters on which the firm acted as counsel, Chrysler, CIT Group, and SemGroup, were short-listed as Restructuring Deal of the Year. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel on March 25, 2010.
In Chrysler and CIT, Cadwalader served as lead counsel to the United States Treasury Department Presidential Auto Task Force. The firm represented creditors in the SemGroup chapter 11 restructuring. The firm’s Restructuring Law Firm of the Year nod came in recognition of work not only on these high-profile matters but on many others, including serving as debtor’s counsel to Lyondell Chemical Company.
“It is gratifying that IFLR has recognized the work of the talented members of our Financial Restructuring Department as well as that of their colleagues in other disciplines who are critical to the effective and efficient legal and business advice we provide clients,” said Chris White, Cadwalader’s Chairman.
