Cadwalader was named the 2018 "Finance Firm of the Year” for Securitization by The Legal 500 UK. The awards are based on interviews conducted with 70,000 in-house counsel and law firms.
“This recognition is a reflection of our commitment to innovating for our clients and to building a world class securitization and structured finance practice in Europe,” said David Quirolo, a partner in Cadwalader’s Capital Markets Group.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with all the major securitization and structured finance bank desks in London, across a range of products and asset classes, as well as for private equity funds, alternative finance platforms, collateral managers and corporates across the region,” added partner Jeremiah Wagner.
Cadwalader’s London group represents clients across a broad range of securitization and structured finance transactions, including CLOs, derivatives, structured credit, structured investment vehicles, commercial paper programs and complex cross-border deals. In 2017, the team has advised on the securitization of fintech-related assets in transactions with a total value of in excess of £2 billion.
Over the last few years, the firm’s London team has been instructed on an array of market-defining transactions, showcasing the group’s wide-ranging expertise and broad bench strength. Many of the transactions are indicative of the team’s role not only serving core clients, but fundamentally shaping the market. The firm pioneered market firsts and new asset-classes in Europe across the last few years (e.g., smartphone handsets; state-guarantee backed SME loan receivables; peer-to-peer loan portfolios), opened and now dominate new markets.
