Crain’s New York Business has recognized Cadwalader as a “Diversity Champion” finalist and Aisha Greene, Cadwalader’s director of attorney development and training, as a “Top D&I Officer” finalist, in its second annual “Diversity & Inclusion” Special Report.
The special issue “celebrates the companies and people who are changing the city’s work culture for the better.”
In the “Diversity Champions” category – recognizing organizations that “have committed to a diverse workforce and have programs or initiatives advancing diversity in the workplace” – Crain’s wrote that the Cadwalader Center for Diversity and Inclusion offers “far-reaching diversity activities” to its attorneys and administrative staff, including its series of training programs to support diverse attorneys in their career development and its multiple affinity networks.
In the “Top Diversity and Inclusion Officers” category – recognizing individuals whose “primary job is promoting diversity within their organization and who have successfully steered the diversity agenda, including in the wider community” – Crain’s referenced Greene’s work as promoting “an inclusive environment at the firm” and making sure that women and people of color “have everything they need to thrive.” Examples include Greene’s efforts on developing an allyship video and anti-racism tool kit, managing the firm’s public-facing Civil Rights Series, and organizing Juneteenth celebration events for all of the firm’s employees.
Crain’s also noted Greene’s oversight of Cadwalader’s recently-launched supplier diversity program to support women- and minority-owned businesses.
Crain’s will announce the winners at an awards luncheon in New York City on June 16.
