Cadwalader Represented Laconic Global With Landmark $5 Billion Carbon Securities Offering

Cadwalader’s team in Washington, D.C., Charlotte, and New York recently guided Laconic Global with the first-of-its-kind, $5 billion registered securities offering of Bolivia's carbon mitigation ambition under the provisions of the 2015 Paris Agreement.

These instruments will be offered and traded as registered securities, but at the same time, will be used to offset investors' carbon footprints as commodities. It is expected that this offering will dramatically change the landscape of carbon and environmental markets in the United States with further incorporation of digital assets and tokenization functionalities.

This groundbreaking legal instrument is anticipated to serve as a valuable monetization tool for many other natural-capital-rich nations in the developing world.
