FT had the following to say about Cadwalader's financial regulation capabilities:
“The firm has expanded its practice in capital relief trades — arrangements created by banks and other financial institutions to transfer balance sheet risk and reduce their regulatory capital requirements. By collaborating with clients, the lawyers have developed strategies that comply with the demands of various US regulators, whose requirements were tightened after the global financial crisis of 2008. Since July 2023, the firm has assisted eight banks and several other financial groups in negotiating a variety of these trades.”
