Cadwalader, a market leader in the real estate finance industry, will be prominently featured at the CRE Finance Council’s (CREFC) annual Miami conference, which will gather over 2,000 finance professionals from January 8-11 for a wide-ranging dialogue on the future of commercial real estate finance.
To kick off the event, Cadwalader Capital Markets co-chair Michael Gambro will present welcome remarks, along with CREFC Board of Governors chair Leah Nivison (Managing Director, Goldman Sachs & Co.) and CREFC conference co-chairs Rebecca Bayard (Vice President, Goldman Sachs & Co.) and Chris Bushart (Senior Vice President, Global Business Development, DBRS Morningstar.)
“CREFC’s annual January conference is an impactful gathering that anticipates what the new year will bring to the commercial real estate finance markets,” Gambro said. “Given our longstanding involvement in real estate finance and securitization, Cadwalader is very pleased to serve as the event’s partner sponsor this year, in support of CREFC’s many educational and networking opportunities for all attendees, including the industry’s next generation of leaders.”
In addition, Capital Markets co-chair Stuart Goldstein will moderate the panel “Compare & Contrast: Lending Trends,” which will feature panelists Daniel Baker (EVP, KeyBank Real Estate Capital); Lisa Bozzelli (Senior Director, Fannie Mae); Jack Gay (Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Debt, Nuveen Real Estate); Tim Geraghty (Managing Director - Head of Capital Markets, Waterfall Asset Management LLC, Ready Capital Corporation); Tim Stoner (Managing Director, USAA Real Estate); and Paul Vanderslice (Managing Director, BMO Capital Markets.)
Gambro and Goldstein will be joined in Miami by more than 40 members from the firm’s Capital Markets and Real Estate Finance practice groups.
“CREFC serves as a valuable resource to all members of the commercial real estate industry and we are excited to have our team down in Miami to meet with industry professionals and collaborate on ideas for what is sure to be an interesting 2023,” said Real Estate Finance Head Bonnie Neuman, who is also co-chair of the Membership Committee of the CREFC Women’s Network. “I am also looking forward to continuing to engage more women in the industry to participate in CREFC events.”
Cadwalader’s Capital Markets practice is regularly ranked as the leading team advising across securitization markets, including ABS, CLOs, CMBS, RMBS and GSE multifamily MBS. In the U.S. commercial mortgage securitization space, for example, in 2021 Cadwalader earned the coveted status as top-ranked issuer counsel in all three segments of the market: non-agency CMBS, agency deals and CRE CLOs. The firm has now been ranked first in the CMBS issuer counsel category for 22 consecutive years. It has also been recognized by Chambers, Law360 and other leading industry organizations.
Cadwalader’s Real Estate Finance practice applies its expertise to the complete spectrum of real estate transactions, including financings, acquisitions, sales and exchanges, development, construction, joint ventures, loan syndications and participations, management, and leasing. The team has been recognized by Chambers, Law360 and other leading industry organizations for its market leadership, including in the Financial Times 2022 “Innovative Lawyers” North America awards program and special report.
