Cadwalader today announced that legal publication Law360 recognized partner Bonnie A. Neuman as a Real Estate Rising Star on its annual list of top attorneys under 40 years old.
Law360 selected its 2016 Rising Stars after reviewing more than 1,100 attorney submissions from 87 law firms and across 32 practice areas. The publication bases its decision on the nominees' career accomplishments in their individual practice areas.
Neuman, who was elected to the firm's partnership in 2016, focuses her practice on the area of real estate finance, representing clients in domestic and cross-border transactions, including the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans, syndication, loan servicing, non-performing loan securitizations, loan restructuring and bankruptcy-related matters. Her clients include global investment banks, national and international financial institutions, investors and servicers. In the past year alone, she led more than $6.3 billion of mortgage and mezzanine loan originations for her clients.
"Cadwalader's real estate practice is a destination for clients with complex financing and other real estate transactions, which often span various structures, collateral types and jurisdictions," said William P. McInerney, Chair of Cadwalader's Finance Group. "Bonnie is a critical member of our team, and she has earned the trust and respect of colleagues and clients alike with her outstanding work ethic and the legal and business acumen she brings to bear on some of our clients' most complicated transactions."
Neuman also plays a leading role in Cadwalader's diversity and recruiting efforts. She is a member of the Women's Leadership Initiative, serves as an Assignment Manager for summer associates and is involved in firm recruiting efforts both on- and off-campus. Neuman also is active within the commercial real estate industry as a member of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) Women's Community Outreach Committee, where she serves as the chair of the Education and Empowerment Sub-Committee.
"We will continue to invest our time and resources into promising young attorneys like Bonnie, and we are proud to have her represent Cadwalader among the best in our industry," said Patrick Quinn, Managing Partner of Cadwalader.
