Cadwalader Real Estate Finance practice head Bonnie Neuman has been recognized by Connect CRE as one of the Top 10 commercial real estate attorneys in the U.S. in its annual “Lawyers in Real Estate” awards, with Cadwalader Real Estate Finance partner Chris Dickson recognized among the Top 10 in the U.S. Southeast region. The series represents a list of attorneys across the country “selected for excelling in their practices as well as their contributions to the community.”
In her profile, Neuman is described as a “trusted advisor to some of the commercial real estate market’s most prolific and sophisticated lenders in the U.S. commercial mortgage-backed securities and syndicated loan markets,” with representative transactions that “range from single-property first mortgage financings to extraordinarily complex financing structures secured by hundreds of properties across multiple markets, for the world’s most sophisticated commercial real estate borrowers.”
In her role as leader of Cadwalader’s Real Estate Finance practice, Neuman is described as directing a transatlantic team of more than 40 real estate finance attorneys in New York, Charlotte and London that collectively advised clients on the origination or amendment of more than $50 billion of financing transactions in the past two years alone.
Neuman is also acknowledged for her broader contributions to the legal and financial industries, which include her role as co-chair of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) Women’s Network Membership Committee, and through CREFC, her fundraising support of Girls, Inc., a nonprofit organization that encourages girls to be "Strong, Smart, and Bold" through direct service and advocacy.
In his profile, Chris Dickson is noted for representing the lenders on syndicated financings and CMBS loans, requiring “a careful balancing act for the closing attorney, and (for which) he has become well-known in this specialized area of real estate finance.” Dickson is also credited for his “strong client relationships with some of the nation’s largest financial services institutions.”
Dickson’s profile also references his pro bono work helping non-documented children in the Carolinas and his prior fundraising for the Charlotte office’s United Way campaign in 2019.
