Cadwalader Fund Finance partner Samantha Hutchinson has been shortlisted by the Financial Times in the “Innovative practitioner” category, as part of the publication’s forthcoming FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2021 awards and report.
Hutchinson’s guidance on products and structures have helped shaped the fund finance European market over nearly two decades, working with some of the largest financial institutions and private-markets managers to develop bespoke and innovative solutions for alternative asset class managers. Most recently, she has been involved with designing ESG-linked facilities and programs, in response to strong market demand.
Hutchinson’s recent transaction highlights include having advised Investec Bank on its €1bn secured note programme backed by fund finance facilities with one of the UK’s largest insurers, the first in this new product area for the London market. She also advised Standard Chartered PLC in its partnership with one of the largest private-markets investment managers to complete one of the world’s first sustainable use of proceeds subscription finance facilities.
FT Innovative Lawyers is a unique program that assesses lawyers on their innovation for clients and in their own businesses. The program consists of rankings and awards, based on independent research from RSG Consulting and robust journalism from the FT. The Europe 2021 results will be announced at a virtual awards event on October 14, and the rankings will be published in both print and online as an FT special report.
