We are deeply saddened by the passing yesterday evening of Cadwalader partner Karen Dyer. Karen received a grave diagnosis just a few months ago and succumbed to her illness after a brave fight.
Karen joined Cadwalader in December 2020 as part of a group from Boies Schiller and immediately became an active member of our Firm, servicing clients and participating in a number of women’s leadership and other programs. She was a nationally recognized trial lawyer, representing Fortune 500 companies and major financial institutions in all aspects of commercial litigation, with a long list of courtroom successes on behalf of her clients.
Karen was an exceptional person. Nick Gravante, who joined from Boies Schiller with Karen and worked with her for more than 30 years, remembered that “whether lending a shoulder to a friend or assisting a colleague, Karen was always there for those who needed her.” He added: “Karen was an incredible friend to those fortunate enough to be in her life. Her combination of warmth, passion, compassion and zealous advocacy was unique among litigators. She would enter a room and light it up with her smile, energy and zest for life.”
We regret that Karen’s time at Cadwalader was so brief. We were just getting to know her. She will certainly be missed.
