Mathan Navaratnam, a partner in Cadwalader’s Fund Finance practice, has been selected as a “Legal Rising Star” by Private Equity International (PEI) Group’s Private Funds CFO Magazine.
Private Funds CFO’s list of Legal Rising Stars celebrates the up-and-comers who are going above and beyond for their clients and recognizes those who will steer the future of the private funds industry.
Navaratnam stands out from his peers for leading some of the largest and most complex fund finance transactions in recent years. He recently advised a syndicate of lenders on implementing a multi-billion, multi-tranched, ESG-linked €4 billion revolving credit facility for a global private equity firm. His decade of experience successfully advising banks and fund managers regarding cross-border debt financing solutions and structures has made him a go-to relationship lead for many major clients, including StepStone Group, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, UBS, Deutsche Bank Wealth and JP Morgan Wealth.
Navaratnam’s outstanding work is recognized across Europe, and his expertise spans the entire range of fund finance products, including capital call lines, NAV facilities, hybrid facilities, GP and executive support facilities, and secondary leverage products.
Navaratnam has also been recognized as a leading practitioner by Legal 500 UK and was named one of Law.com International’s 2022 “Private Equity Rising Stars” in the UK and Europe. He is also credited with “putting diversity at the heart” of Cadwalader’s fund finance practice in London.
