Cadwalader partner Michele Maman has been selected as a Turnarounds & Workouts “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers” for 2017. The publication honors 12 of the most accomplished restructuring attorneys in the United States under the age of 40. Honorees are selected based upon their recent representations and achievements and from nominations received from leading restructuring attorneys across the country.
Maman was recognized for her role advising an ad hoc committee of U.S. and European noteholders of vodka producer Central European Distribution Corporation in its chapter 11 proceeding and again when Roust Corp. sought bankruptcy protection in a “chapter 22” proceeding; MBIA in connection with its financial guaranty of nearly $1 billion in notes issued in connection with two Zohar CLO investment funds; and Morgan Stanley Capital Group, Inc., as first-lien swap counterparty and an intervenor-defendant, in an intercreditor adversary proceeding in the chapter 11 cases of Energy Future Holdings Corp., one of the largest U.S. bankruptcies in history.
