Cadwalader’s recent $3.8 million police misconduct jury trial win was featured in the April 12 “Litigator of the Week” column in The American Lawyer.
The publication noted “ ... shout out to a team at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft ... that secured a damages verdict in a police negligence case for client Stewart Hoban III. Hoban was permanently disabled when the car he was a passenger in crashed into a pole after a Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department office gave chase in her private automobile after observing a minor traffic violation. After three-and-a-half days of evidence and one-and-a-half days of deliberations, a Washington, D.C., Superior Court jury found the city liable for the officer’s negligence.”
