Bilal Sayyed spoke with the Global Competition Review about the news that Federal Trade Commission employees have overwhelmingly decided to certify their labor union after months of organizing.
Bilal, who formerly directed the FTC’s Office of Policy Planning, said it is a "pretty bad sign" that employees are concerned about politicization. “Political leadership should be free to move and remove staff, but only when they refuse to listen to leadership and not because of differences in opinion,” Bilal said.
