Brian Kurpis is an associate in Cadwalader’s Finance Group. Brian focuses on fund finance and represents lenders, financial institutions, insurance companies, private credit firms and investment funds in structuring, negotiating and documenting bilateral and syndicated financing structures, including primary and secondary NAV loan facilities, subscription credit facilities, hybrid transactions, margin loans, GP financings, collateralized fund obligations, rated note feeders and continuation funds. Brian’s practice includes work on structures involving a variety of asset-based collateral, such as private equity fund interests, portfolio companies, loan assets, fund of hedge fund interests and private credit secondaries transactions.
Prior to joining Cadwalader, Brian worked at a global multi-strategy asset manager, where he negotiated and drafted counterparty trading documentation and advised on regulatory issues for hedge funds, separately managed accounts and registered investment companies. His experience covers a diverse range of asset classes, including equity derivatives, interest rate and credit derivatives, fixed income products, securities lending and prime brokerage financing arrangements.
Brian received his B.A. from New York University, and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
