Christopher M. Floyd is an associate in Cadwalader’s Financial Restructuring Group. He advises lenders and other strategic creditors and investors in a variety of in-court and out-of-court restructurings. His practice includes distressed financings and acquisitions, domestic and international corporate restructurings, bankruptcies, liquidations, corporate dissolutions, and other insolvency matters.
Christopher has worked on engagements in numerous high-profile chapter 11 and chapter 9 bankruptcy and restructuring situations, including proceedings in the Zohar III CLO Funds, Seadrill, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Nortel Networks, Lyondell, Boomerang Tube, and Fisker Automotive cases, among others. His restructuring experience spans a variety of industries and includes engagements in the financial, chemical, energy, shipping, retail, real estate and manufacturing sectors.
Christopher was recognized in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law.
Christopher has authored articles on a variety of restructuring topics and his work has been published in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, among other publications.
Christopher received his J.D. from Boston College Law School and his B.Sc. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in finance. Christopher is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.
