Eric Starr is a special counsel in Cadwalader’s Finance Group, focusing on fund finance.
Eric represents banks and financial institutions in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of subscription credit facilities. Eric’s practice includes working with fund-related borrowers on the negotiation of third-party investor documents with institutional, high net worth and sovereign wealth investors. He also has experience representing lenders in various secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities, first lien and second lien financings and leveraged acquisition transactions.
Eric was included in the 2022, 2023 and 2025 editions of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for his work in Banking and Finance Law.
Eric received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as a comment editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He received a B.A. from Milligan College and a Masters of Divinity from Duke University.
