Jared’s wide-ranging practice includes the representation of financial institutions, institutional investors, public and private corporations and directors and officers in a variety of industries, including financial services, consulting, pharmaceuticals, medical services, real estate and information technology.
Jared’s practice includes securities, derivative and other shareholder actions; M&A litigation; shareholder activism; actions alleging breach of fiduciary duties or other misconduct by corporate directors in the Delaware Court of Chancery and elsewhere; internal investigations; sophisticated contractual disputes; litigation involving complex financial instruments and structured products; and bankruptcy litigation. Jared is deeply involved in Cadwalader’s commitments to diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility. As the former longtime chair of the firm’s LGBTQ Network, Jared has built and fostered a sense of community among LGBT attorneys and allies at the firm. He has also led this affinity group’s role in a cornerstone pro bono program at Cadwalader – a series of transgender name change clinics that bring together firm volunteers with in-house client legal teams and nonprofit advocacy groups to guide low-income members of the transgender community through the process of changing their legal identities to match their lived experiences.
The legal and business press has repeatedly recognized Jared for his commitment to both clients and community. In 2025, Lawdragon named him to its “500 Leading Litigators in America,” reflecting “the best litigators the U.S. has to offer.” Crain’s New York Business named Jared as a 2024 “Notable LGBTQIA+ Leader” for his “career accomplishments, mentorship of others, and involvement in community and industry organizations.” The Legal 500 US has included feedback where clients “recommended [Jared] for ‘consistent, strong, thoughtful and timely work product.’” Prior to becoming partner, Super Lawyers named Jared a “New York Rising Star” for five consecutive years. He has also been recognized for his pro bono work by the New York State Bar Association.
Jared graduated from Yale University in 2001 and received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2008. He is admitted to practice in New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Fifth Circuits.
