What to Expect in the Biden Administration: CFIUS, Sanctions, and DOJ’s National Security Priorities
This webinar will focus on key legal tools available to the Biden Administration to advance its foreign policy and national security goals. Specifically, we will discuss trends in national security reviews of foreign investment through the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and whether those trends are likely to continue; how the Biden Administration is expected to pursue its sanctions and prohibited transaction policies through its authorities under the National Emergencies Act and International Emergency Economic Powers Act; and the Department of Justice’s China Initiative and other prosecutorial priorities in the national security space.
