In April, members of the London White Collar & Investigations team – including Duncan Grieve, Sharon Takhar and Sanju Ganesan – participated in a pro bono legal advice/sustainability workshop organized by the East London Business Alliance (ELBA). The CWT team advised the Businesses for Islington Giving Alliance (BIG Alliance) on how to align their projects and activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This is an important step to assist charities in securing private sector partnerships and sources of funding. The BIG Alliance was set up in June 2012 by Islington Giving, Macquarie Group and the ELBA to strengthen links between businesses and community organisations and educational institutions across Islington. This pro bono project is also consistent with our rapidly-developing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practice, which is focused on all aspects of climate change and sustainability, social impact and associated governance issues.
