Cadwalader partners Linda Swartz and Jared Stanisci have been named among the 2024 “Notable LGBTQIA+ Leaders” by Crain’s New York Business, announced today.
Each year, Crain’s honors those top LGBTQIA+ professionals “for their career accomplishments, mentorship of others, and involvement in community and industry organizations.”
Linda is the longtime chair of Cadwalader’s Tax Group and a former member of the firm's Management Committee. In addition to her high profile legal work, Crain’s noted her leading role in shaping Cadwalader’s strategic business and cultural priorities as a longtime member of its Management Committee; and for her launching, and leading, numerous cornerstone D&I initiatives at Cadwalader, including founding the Women’s Task Force, co-chairing Cadwalader’s Global Diversity Committee and serving as the partner sponsor for its LGBTQ affinity network.
Jared, who is a member of Cadwalader’s Global Litigation practice, was recognized for his work in obtaining a complete dismissal of mortgage fraud charges against Paul Manafort brought by the New York County District Attorney’s Office on statutory double jeopardy grounds, and successfully defending that ruling on appeal to the First Department and the New York Court of Appeals. Crain’s also cited Jared’s role as the chair of Cadwalader’s LGBTQ Network, and his leadership of Cadwalader’s partnership with Legal Services NYC, which has enabled the firm’s attorneys to provide free legal name change services to low-income transgender clients. He is actively involved in the firm’s pro bono program otherwise, and has been recognized for his pro bono work by the New York State Bar Association.
